# Filet Mignon
|

|
Follow Gordon Ramsay's recipes.
|
||
|
He suggests sunflower oil.
|
||
|
|
||
|
1. Dry meat with paper towel.
|
||
|
2. Trim excess fat.
|
||
|
3. Season with salt and pepper.
|
||
|
4. Directly into cast iron, with oil (extra virgin olive oil). Sear well.
|
||
|
5. 4-5 minutes each side, medium rare.
|
||
|
6. Add Butter, garlic, and thyme to the pan, baste meat.
|
||
|
7. Check internal temperature with thermometer.
|
||
|
8. You may need to slice the meat while it cooks. This is normal.
|
||
|
9. Continue to sear on all sides until desired internal temperature is reached.
