sometimes it seems that humanity
has lost the capacity
to sing of anything other than love
and act in anything other than hate

you pour thousands of words into my ears every day
and at least half of them are just more synonyms
for that chemical reactions occurring
in our chests and hearts

maybe theres a good reason for that; I wouldnt know
just because I spend countless hours of my day
pondering over words, shoveling them into holes of coherent sentences
doesnt mean that I can read the minds of everybody

what does original even mean nowadays
were just plagiarizing from each other
give me that strand of letters; its mine now
that scarf of notes looks quite delectable twisted around my neck
