Ive got to run, run, run
before the big man catches up with me
with his vacuum cleaner
and his heretic beater

lost connects but no frayed wires anywhere
every time I step out of my room, Im scared
paranoia, paranoia, come back to me
be my lantern in the dark hallway so I can see

wheres the divide between zombies
lumbering around mindlessly without words
and people in shiny dry-cleaned suits and dresses
dropping words like chaff off golden wheat

two hands can clutch a lot of things
from empty air with desperately pleading words
to a pen, writing words that launch a million ships
to a spear, severing lives and throwing families asunder
to a microphone, either a remedy or a reveler in suffering
