a weather pattern you did not know existed
on this lonely planet
and you travel at fifty miles an hour
and it feels like you are going faster than the lightning
when in fact you are embarrassingly slow

the rain is fogging your windshield
because your companion did not want to fly
so you are stuck in a moving death machine
chasing a deadline that is drawing ever closer
and a rainbow that will not appear
