let the rain wash over everything.
let it erode the land
chipping away at every part of you
you once thought was essential

let the flood come tumbling from the horizon
violent waves promising redemption
we will find our motivation again one day
we will rise again

as I toss around in my bed at midnight
my mind conjures up a storm
of who I was
who I fear I may never be again

but surely this is not the end of the road, right?
nihilism has not got me in its grasp
and I haven't sent my soul to the grave
and I will keep writing
even if it kills me
