a new contender steps out of the mist
rimmed in purple lips and trimmed in fur
with a world of deceit concealed
underneath a golden pair of sunglasses

she skips over the steps to the house
that she shares with all her friends
hugging them all one by one
for she must leave them immediately

“I am going away to collect a good friend
who I will bring back to us all.
Please be good and kind in my absence
and do not mess things up in the kitchen.”

she tosses one end of her scarf
behind her as she steps away
and into the unknown of the outer world
which she has been absent from for so long
